Well-known author Paulo Coelho once said, “when we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back.”
When we’re faced with a challenge, we have three choices. We can give up, we can give in, or we can give it all we have. As we train and take care of our physical bodies daily, doing the same for our minds is often ignored or shunned. The relationship we have with ourselves and our minds is crucial and more important than ever before. Positive self-talk and positive affirmations are some of the most essential tools we carry each day. When we control our minds and have the means to overcome setbacks, a negative thought does not turn into a lingering negative unsettling conversation.

There could be moments on this journey when we experience anxiety, confusion, depression, discomfort, loneliness, and even some pain, but understand we are never alone. It is okay not to be okay! The sun will always rise, no matter how dark the previous night. No matter what happened yesterday, this morning, or five minutes ago, we have a rare opportunity to treasure this moment while making it more vibrant and brighter. Realize that falling is a part of life, getting back up is living, and remember that there is a hidden treasure of wisdom inside every challenging experience.
While we continue to live through some challenging, intriguing, and innovative times, everything that lies within us is equipped to meet the moment. Have faith in you, and in your heart, for it offers hope. Believe in your mind, and your knowledge, for it provides direction. Believe in your soul, and in your spirituality, for it gives strength — and remember you are enough and will keep rising above any obstacles in grace, gratitude, and faith.
Never stop believing, asking the question ‘Why?’ and being unique.
