“I believe that one defines oneself by reinvention. To not be like your parents. To not be like your friends. To be yourself. To cut yourself out of stone.” ― Henry Rollins
Each day, we are surrounded by unique opportunities for personal growth in our lives. Yet, often, we are prevented, distracted, or deterred from moving forward on our self-discovery journey. I have this theory that we should reinvent ourselves every ten years.

At 50 years old, I was not the same person I was when I was 40 or even 30. Society can dictate change, our age can command change, and yet, we are always in more control than we think. It just takes courage to transform our lives and to live unseasonably.
As we approach the end of one year and the beginning of another, it would be wise to reflect on where you are without prudence and focus on creating a strategic plan for your personal growth for the weeks and months ahead. Recognize we will habitually spend more time planning our vacations, yet comparatively, we won’t spend nearly the same time planning our lives. The self-awareness and self-discipline of this act alone of framing a strategy together will give you a unique value and advantage because people often live on autopilot instead of with intention and strategy.
So, no matter our age or the state of affairs, there is always an opportunity to develop, dream, prosper, and be more than you ever believed you could be as together, we pursue living a life filled with more profound meaning and purpose.
