Growth is the Courage to Risk Failure

Our growth depends on how adaptable we are. Growth is the courage to risk failure. The honesty to own mistakes and the humility to learn from setbacks. When you nurture a growth mindset, you find the strength to begin again even when there is no finish line in sight. Your life stops when learning stops. Failure is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign that you are alive and human. When we fail, we learn, we grow and mature. So invest in yourself and holistic development every day while understanding mistakes and adversity are no longer failures. Instead, they are learning opportunities to do and be better.

The grit to confront our failures is what defines us. Every failure includes gems of success and wisdom if you look for them. For failure to be a better teacher than the success, you must be willing to analyze what went wrong and take corrective action. When you fail, be sure to fail forward.

Realizing how others see you versus how you see yourself will either paralyze or liberate you. Be kind to yourself and the reflection in the mirror. Personal growth is not about fixing a “self” that you feel subconsciously is broken or unworthy. It is about letting go of who you think you are supposed to be and becoming more of who you authentically already are.

One of the most beautiful things about humans is our capacity to heal, grow, survive and thrive. Each day you have a unique opportunity to turn your setbacks into comebacks through learning while never allowing your fears to become more prominent than your dreams. As you navigate your self-discovery journey, remember the only person responsible for your happiness is you. When in doubt, smile, laugh, and love. These are three of the most transformative and natural antidepressants that will not cost you a cent!
