One Year of Touring – 16,000km’s

This week I welcomed in a new chapter in my cycling life filled with growth, discovery, learning, and possibilities. This miraculous life journey has me cycling the globe (really North America) and has been about finding “my why,” ”providing awareness,” and “executing my purpose.” In my reflection, I realized it has taken me twenty-eight years to truly value the importance of what I did not know but needed to know. Still, I am figuring out what I do not know but need to know, and how it is going to help me stay relevant in this ever-changing world.

My first year of touring ”wish” is to be where others never expected me to be. Each of my days is incentivized by knowledge and truth. I have come to understand ignorance costs us more than we will ever know. So it becomes even more imperative never to stop learning, unlearning, relearning, and challenging the status quo. We can put an enormous emphasis on doing but far less on being. Be yourself, but be your best self. Over the past year of touring, the more comfortable I became in my own skin, the less worried I became about being liked and validated by others.

One of our most common regrets are not the risks we took, but the ones we did not. At 46, I am still a works in progress. I am on a daily self-discovery journey to find myself, the real me. The moment we stop exploring and discovering who we are is the moment we die while still being alive. Understand life is not fair nor unfair. Life just is. Life is what it is. Radical acceptance is saying yes to life as it is. Each moment we are in control of how we respond to life’s unexpected sequences of events. While we cannot control everything that happens to us, we can choose not to be defeated and discouraged.

In this moment, you and I are bestowed the invaluable opportunity to heal, to find, to know, to love, to be, and to respect ourselves and others. We can venture beyond our comfort zone into our growth zone of possibilities. When in doubt, trust your intuition, trust your brilliance, and trust your story while taking that first step towards becoming more of who you authentically are and meant to be!

Can’t wait to see you on the road, cycling, and sharing your passion.
